thirsty
This week I have been in worship w/Charlie Hall, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, and Matt Redman. I have heard some awesome messages ... Louie is the best! New guy Francis Chan is extremely funny. I can't even imagine being in church listening to him every week. I can't wait until Sunday to visit North Point Community Church. It's unique. And Andy Stanley is an awesome speaker... but Louie is the best!
Learned a lot this week....reminded that it is all about God's glory... not about me...
Today Louie talked about the importance of collegiate ministry. He reminded us of the 16 million college students in the USA and about 78% of them do not consider themselves Christians!
I know the Church puts a lot of resources into youth ministries... and that is important... but college is the crossroads of life for so many....
Is the Church there? Why or why not?

Thomas Cranmer died today in 1556. The first Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury, it was he who organised Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon and wrote the Anglican Prayer Book. So when Catherine's daughter the Catholic Mary became Queen, he was in trouble. He was sentenced to death, but, not a martyr by inclination, he was persuaded to recant his Protestant faith. But Mary couldn't resist burning him anyway, so he used his farewell sermon – which was supposed to confirm his recantation – to recant his recanting, and died a Protestant martyr after all. When the fire was lit he put his right hand down into it, that the hand that signed his recantation might burn first. (courtesy of ship-of-fools.com)

Today in 1742, while preaching on a table in a field, John Wesley was attacked by a gang who tried to drive a bull at him. "But the beast was wiser than his drivers and continually ran either on one side of us or the other, while we quietly sang praise to God and prayed for about an hour."
